*THE* best sub-$200 Android tablet out there – period. About 2 to 3 months ago, as I began to realize that (most likely) the Kindle Fire HDX 7 was not going to receive any more updates, I reevaluated my needs for a tablet. It eventually dawned on me that the main reason I’d originally gravitated towards a Kindle Fire HDX was because, despite being steeped in the Amazon subsystem, it was one of the most powerful devices for the price at the time.

Solid, fast smooth tablet. Will get better as Marshmallow becomes more everyday. I have not received this as a review piece. I purchased with my own cash for my own use. Second time posting. Amazon says i violated review policy but I can for the life of me see where.

Heir to the Nexus 7, best compact Android slate in 2016 This is the rightful heir to the Nexus 7 FHD (2nd gen). If you want a similarly compact, powerful (for the price) tablet with decent specs at an excellent price, this is it. Nvidia has been doing an excellent job with upgrades and releasing the source code as well. While it had some early teething issues (touch sensitivity and a botched update messing up wifi connectivity) they have all been resolved. The stand-by power consumption is nothing short of stellar.
