Yep, I took a trip to Detroit, Inkster, first, then Waterford to pick up some vintage tube gear. 1st stop Inkster, The Sound Explosion shop, mission pick up a 50’s Pilot HIFI console. I spotted this unit on Facebook Market classifieds. Have been talking to the owner for a few weeks, nailing down pick up details. Weather here in Michigan has been brutal cold & snowy. So, things turned out in my favor. I was going to the Vintage electronics Expo in Waterford (Jan 31st) we diverted our plans a bit to visit the record shop. Very happy that I did. This place was super cool, lots of old stuff, stereos, albums, tapes, CDs etc. The Pilot was my main acquisition, however, I was able to score a few more nice restoration pieces. Wife wasnt to thrilled that I loaded up the car with more dusty junk (her opinion). A great trip. Living the D-Lab dream! I will be posting a follow up on the Pilot.
