This tiny electronic chip can freeze water in seconds, but if you aren’t careful, it will literally destroy itself! ❄️🔥 In this short, we break down the incredible science behind the Peltier Module (Thermoelectric Cooler) and show you exactly how it works.
🎛️ How Does It Work?
When a DC current passes through a Peltier plate (like the popular TEC1-12706), it triggers the Peltier Effect. This forces heat to transfer from one side of the ceramic plate to the other, making one side freezing cold while the opposite side gets scalding hot.
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: Never power up a Peltier module without a heavy-duty heatsink and cooling fan on the hot side! If the heat isn’t dissipated instantly, the module will overheat and burn out in seconds.
🚀 What Can You Build With It?
DIY Mini Fridge: Use a 12V power supply, an insulated box, and a CPU cooler to make a portable can chiller.
Thermoelectric Generator: If you apply heat to one side and ice to the other, it actually works in reverse and generates electricity!
