I turned a $17 plastic alarm clock into something that actually feels designed—timeless, deliberate, and worth keeping. In this video I keep the original electronics and rebuild everything around them, starting with a rough first version that still felt too DIY, then resetting for a second pass with higher standards, tighter proportions, and a more industrial, manufactured feel. Along the way I’m fighting the constraints the circuit boards force on spacing and button placement, making (and fixing) mistakes, and chasing that moment when the object finally feels like it was always meant to exist this way.
